It’s That Time of Year Again – Back to School!

Montgomery County Public Schools’ (MCPS) electric school buses (ESBs) are back in action as the 2023-2024 school year has officially begun. On August 26th several electric school buses were used to shuttle MCPS parents, students, and community members around for the district’s Annual Back-to-School Fair that took place at the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center in Wheaton, Maryland.

As a continued partner for MCPS’ 326 electric school bus deployment, Highland was excited to be there to celebrate with MCPS. The community engagement was fantastic. The Highland team was on site to answer questions from the MCPS community about our electric school buses while sharing more information about the largest ESB fleet in the U.S., which is deployed for MCPS.

The summer heat did not stop the show as the attendees were eager to learn about the physical and mental health benefits gained by taking an electric school bus on their daily school commute. The MCPS community also had the chance to tour the electric school bus and cool off inside the bus with its quiet, but powerful air conditioning!

An impressive turnout, more than 3,000 MCPS community members were in attendance – Highland was one of the 100 community partners and school administrative offices that were invited to participate. Check out some of the great moments captured in the photos below:
