Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate will play a key role in ramping up Highland’s marketing activity. The role reports to the Head of Marketing and represents a fantastic opportunity to learn by doing. An independent contributor focused on execution, the Associate will also have the chance to work with senior team members on strategy. The role will work closely with a variety of teams to build the marketing function, drive brand awareness, and track and analyze campaign results. The Marketing Associate should have a breadth of understanding of marketing tactics, including meaningful experience with social media and content creation, and strong research and analysis skills to interpret ROI and KPI metrics.


  • Oversee social media content strategy and organic and paid campaigns, creating content and working collaboratively with our PR firm

  • Support website content updates; publish press releases across channels

  • Manage promotional items (design, ordering, inventory, delivery) targeted at both internal and external stakeholders

  • Support the development of visual brand assets, such as photo and video shoots

  • Participate in various branding initiatives, such as presentation development and collateral design, in collaboration with the team and our graphic designer

  • Draft direct-marketing emails and own email automation, tracking and reporting

  • Use Google Analytics to examine how our online marketing practices are working and make suggestions for changes based on your findings

  • Help create new content as needed (case studies, press releases, web copy, speaker decks)

  • Own national speaking program (trade and thought leadership events) & manage speaker applications; help sales team build out list of industry events to target in 2023

  • Support sales team with event exhibits and branding

  • Track & draft award applications

  • Support the Marketing, Sales and Market Development functions as needed


  • 2+ years’ experience in a marketing position

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Willingness to jump in on any task and learn by doing

  • Creative problem-solving skills

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where individuals wear many hats

  • Ability to operate independently and meet deadlines, but also able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team

  • Experience with copywriting and editing for marketing materials

  • Experience managing corporate social media accounts with a proven track record of driving positive engagement

  • Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail

  • Familiarity with tools such as Sprout, Salesloft, Salesforce, Google Analytics, etc. preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field preferred
