Director/Manager, Corporate Development

We are looking for an experienced Director and/or Manager to oversee Highland’s M&A and strategic investment processes from end-to-end. The right candidate will have experience generating, managing, and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships and enjoy getting their hands dirty to grow a company.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to develop strategy, identify product gaps, develop investment themes and screen, and evaluate potential partnership, acquisition, and investment opportunities

  • Evaluate targets via internal and external research and modeling to support build/partner/buy decisions

  • Quarterback the M&A process, working closely with functional leaders across the company to build valuation models, drive due diligence, negotiate and structure the deal, develop post-acquisition KPIs, and execute integration plans

  • Develop a network of industry contacts, venture capital firms, and investment banks/advisory firms to increase our ability to identify and source opportunities

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in a top-tier highly analytical and performance-driven organization (e.g., management consulting, private equity, venture capital, banking)

  • Experience conducting M&A due diligence

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, MBA preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to craft investment memos and presentations

  • Exceptional financial analysis, modeling and valuation skills, including understanding of merger/acquisition and related models

  • Ability to operate effectively and thrive in fast-moving and ambiguous environments

  • Expert Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
